谷野明子さんの葉山の工房へうかがいました。

ヘミングアーツから15分ぐらい歩いた山の上に谷野さんの工房はありました。

そこは鳥の鳴き声が響き、豊かな畑と森が広がる静かな場所でした。

工房に入ると、大きな窓から入る柔らかな陽の光と形成された生地のアイボリー色がとても美しく、印象的でした。

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Akiko Tanino’s studio in Hayama. The studio is nestled on a hill, about a 15-minute walk from HemingArts. It is a serene location surrounded by lush fields and forests, with the sound of birds filling the air.
Upon entering the studio, I was immediately struck by the soft sunlight streaming in through the large windows, illuminating the delicate ivory-colored pieces.

旅の記憶

記憶に留めようと意識した光景ではなく

ふと蘇るいつかの光景

それは曖昧な季節の森の色だったり

湖の名前は忘れたけれど、白鳥が羽ばたく光景だったり

知らない駅の風景だったり

そんな私だけの旅の記憶を辿るように

Memories of travel
There are very personal memories of travel that resurface unexpectedly, evoking warmth and nostalgia – not the sights I intentionally tried to memorize, but more ambiguous ones.  Like the colors of a forest in an indistinct season, the image of swans taking flight over a lake whose name I’d forgotten, or the view from a station I’ve never known. 

谷野さんの作品は旅の記憶のように、優しい作品です。

生地の成形から絵付けまで、全ての工程を行い、生地は繊細で美しく、絵付けは筆の柔らかさを感じます。

どことなく懐かしく、骨董のような趣もあります。時を感じさせない美しい作品をご堪能ください。

Akiko Tanino’s works evoke such gentle emotions. She handles every step of the process herself, from shaping the clay to painting. The clay is delicate and beautiful, and the brushstrokes in her painted designs are soft. Her pieces have a nostalgic, antique-like charm. They are timeless, beautiful works that invite you to savor their details.
